When Bella Acland from Soul Kitchen first got in touch with us, she had a very special request. She needed us to craft three personalised enamel mugs for each of the Dragons on BBC’s Dragons’ Den!
The brief was simple but so effective: Soul Kitchen’s striking logo on one side, and a custom design on the other matching each Dragon’s name - including the now-famous "Peter's Soup" mug for Peter Jones. Bella used the mugs to serve up three of her delicious soup flavours during her pitch.
Naturally, the whole thing was kept strictly under wraps! We had to keep the secret for what felt like a lifetime while waiting for the episode to finally air. When the night arrived and we saw our little shed creations sitting on those iconic side tables - and being drunk from by actual Dragons - we were absolutely over the moon. Hearing Peter Jones smile and say "I love that... Peter's Soup" while praising the presentation was the ultimate pinch me moment for our small family business.
The story didn't end there, either! Just before the episode aired, Bella got back in touch to ask for two additional custom mugs: "Ed's Soup" and "Jamie's Soup." We soon spotted on social media that Jamie Laing received his very own personalised mug as part of a special Soul Kitchen goodie bag - another completely surreal moment for us!
